Bringing Ageless Wisdom to Contemporary Life

The Toltecs were an ancient culture chiefly located in what is now the pyramid ruins of Teotihuacan in the high midlands of Mexico. In a tradition that dates back thousands of years and continues today, the Toltec were known throughout Mexico as men and women of knowledge. One interpretation of the word Toltec is artist. They considered the manner in which you lived your life as your art, thus the Toltec way was not a religion but more accurately a way of life.

The Toltec view embodies many of the universally accepted truths adopted by all the bona fide spiritual traditions around the world, along with a common sense approach to explaining what we are and how we got this way. The Toltecs taught that there is no way for us to change unless we have an awareness of how we create our own unique perception of the world. Their description of the human being is that the mind is alive and one of its main purposes is to dream. They concluded that we are dreaming twenty-four hours a day and what we dream through is a filter of our beliefs about everything.

Many different lineages of the Toltec Way spread throughout ancient Meso-America. After the conquest of Mexico by the Spanish and persecution by the Catholic Church, the Toltec Way went under ground and was taught in secret until the late 1970's.

The Eagle Knight lineage of the Toltec way, from Teotihuacan, was brought to North America from Central Mexico by don Miguel Ruiz, Author of the best-selling book, "The Four Agreements". He learned it from his mother Sarita, a curandera (healer), and his grandfather a Nagual (teacher). Don Miguels' vision for each of us is to replace the drama of humanity, which is based on fear and suffering, with a new dream of each person practicing the artistry of choice, common sense based in love resulting in an exceptional life.
